Graduation

Last week my grandmother who we call Umi graduated from Brigham Young University.

We are so proud of her!

She graduated with a degree in American Studies.
I remember going to an economics class with her once.
From just one class I know that it is a lot work!

Umi is such an example to me, she has worked so hard for this throughout her life and she deserves her degree!

Congratulations Umi!

Happy weekend

Sunday is my favorite day of the week.
First, because we get to go to church and fellowship with the other members of the ward.
Second, because I get to spend the day resting, and preparing for the new coming week. Planning is one of my favorite things to do.
Third, because we get to have good food with family.
And fourth, because I listen to my favorite kind of music, which is film score/instrumental.

This Sunday I'll be listening to Jean Yves Thibaudet's

A little thing to think about over your weekend:

I believe in God, I believe that He has all power and all wisdom and that He created all things including me and you! I also believe that He loves all of us unconditionally.

If you want to learn or read more about God and Jesus Christ, I have just the thing for you!

Hooray for the weekend!!!!

One Line A Day

In 2014 a friend of mine named Jenna bought me a journal for my birthday.
It was one of those one line a day journals that can be used for 5 years.
I started doing it right away and it has been so much fun to see how much things have changed.
My handwriting, hobbies, houses, and hair (yes hair, it went from straight and dark to curly and lighter), has changed since I was 13 years old!

A year ago today, on the 26th of April 2017, I went to lunch with a few of my friends Katie, Belen, and Reagan, had a painting activity in Young Women's, and sewed a shirt I had designed myself (the shirt failed).

Two years ago today, on the 26th of April 2016, I went grocery shopping with my mom at Walmart.

Three years ago today, on the 26th of April 2015, I played Hospital with my siblings and cousins.

And today, on the 26th of April 2018, we are in Utah, celebrating my grandmother's graduation at BYU. Yay Umi!!!

If you don't really like journalling a whole lot, or you're really busy and can't write a whole page every day, but want to record your life, I recommend this!

Books

One of my favorite things to do is read.
It's all I do in the Summertime!
Some of my favorites are here:

I grew up with these three girls!

I read this book in one day. Definitely a favorite!

Another favorite

That's one epic story!

I certainly recommend this one!!!

I'm reading 3 different books right now too.

If your a big reader you've got to have read this series at least once!

This story really never gets old

This is the last of one of my favorite series by Marissa Meyer The Lunar Chronicles. They're amazing! I TOTALLY ship WOLFLET!!!!

Joan of Arc

A couple of months ago my mom was teaching my little brother Nicholas about Joan of Arc in history.
I couldn't help but listen in.
I remember when I was about his age my mom bought me a book about her.
I've been fascinated by her ever since!
She is an amazing young woman! And such an example to me.
BYUtv has a documentary about her and we all watched it the following Sunday.
It was amazing, I really felt the spirit.
I love the way it all connects.
God told Joan to help crown the rightful king and to save France from England.
Later on, because she obeyed and helped France become a free country, they were able to help us during the revolutionary war.
And then because America became a free country, the church was able to be restored in the United States of America.
Now we have more than 16,118,170 members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the world!!!
I'm grateful for Joan of Arc. She is an amazing example to me.
You can watch the documentary here.

The General Conference Notebook

When we got home from our fun RV trip we had
A LOT of mail.
One thing I really look forward to getting
in the mail is our New Era
This month it came with a special extra,
I was really excited about it!
Now that General Conference is out and we can listen to it again,
I've gotten to fill it out and it's been really lovely.
I love recording my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I think it's a great way to strengthen it.
Isn't it wonderful that we get to hear from our prophet and apostles every 6 months?!
There was so much new and exciting stuff this time too!
Anyway, you can download the notebook and print it out,
you should it's great.

The color code

When we're headed up to UT to visit family
we always stay at my grandparents house.
And my mom always sends at least one package over to her house.
This trip was one of those occasions.
We had a dollhouse, 9 pairs of shoes, and a book delivered.
The book was an oldie from the early 2000's.
It's called "The Color Code".
It's the coolest book!

You first take a little assessment
and it tells you what color most describes your
personality.
There are four colors, red, blue, yellow, and white.
Red people are leaders, they're dominant, decisive, and logical.
White people are submissive and stubborn, agreeable, and kind.
Yellow people are happy, charismatic, fun, and social.
Blue people are loyal, self-righteous, thoughtful, and content.

My dad and Lottie are both dominant reds with a little bit of white.

Me and my mom are both dominant blues with a little white too.

Jane is all on her own as a dominant white with a little bit of blue.

I'm dying to know what the boys are.
I think Nicholas is white and Oliver is either blue or yellow.
I guess they'll just have to figure it out in "The Color Code!"

My favorite food

My favorite type of food is anything homemade.
My mom is a wonderful cook and she's always make delicious dinner for the family.
But to be more specific, my very favorite food is homemade macaroni.
Every time my mom asks me what she should make for dinner,

A great trip

I haven't been writing lately!
That's because I was on an EPIC journey
with my family to the east coast in a rental RV.
It was so much fun.
Now that I'm home I'll be getting back into the swing of things.
But there are exciting changes coming up.
I'm both anticipating it and dreading it all.
Our RV trip including the following:

A visit to my grandparent's old mission home in MO,

A day spent at a beach in NC,

An AWESOME general conference (somewhere in TN),

And a happy Easter in OK,

A visit at Ree Drummond's new boarding house (it's amazing!),

And finally an end back in Provo.
It was so much fun and I'll never forget it!
I can't wait to make more RV memories.
